Our range is licensed for small bore rifles at 25yards. Many of our members shoot at other ranges and at 50 metres and 100yards.

All of our shooting is done with card targets which have various layouts of circular aiming marks or bulls.
Yes. For most target shooters that is the main object of the sport. We compete in postal competitions at a national level, as well as at the famous Bisley meeting in August. We also have a variety of internal club competions for which a range of attractive trophies are awarded.
A beginner would pay a range fee each visit, and pay for any ammunition used. Club members pay an annual subscription and buy their own ammunition. Charges are kept to a minimum and pay for the hire of the range from the owner and the upkeep of equipment. Dacorum Rifle Club is a non profit making organisation.
No. Full training is freely available on a one to one basis with an experienced instructor. From the beginning there is an emphasis on safety. Beginners can expect to receive this training for several months and mentoring and coaching is available throughout a shooters career.
Do you have rifles for loan?
Yes. The club has rifles suitable for a beginner to use, and
accessories such as slings , jackets and spotting telescopes. These
items cannot be taken off the range.
No, there is no minimum age, though youngsters need to be of a certain size and physical build to be able to handle a rifle successfully. By the mid teens youngsters should be able to cope well. We recognise that school work is of prime importance.
No, children under the age of 18 must at all times be accompanied by a parent or other responsible adult.
Yes. Our children and vulnerable adult policy is written by our governing body, the National Small Bore Rifle Association and is based on guidelines issued by the NSPCC. All of our officials have received training and our main instructor has a clean CRB check.
Unfortunately no. Private transport is essential.
